Gortnahoe N.S. Upcoming Events:

Wednesday April 3rd at 7.30 pm Sacrament of Reconciliation for 2nd Class 

Thursday April 4th – PDST Gymnastics Instruction for all classes and teachers. 

Friday April 5th Spring Clean

 In conjunction with Gortnahoe Tidy Towns Committee and the the National Spring Clean Initiative our school will partake in a spring clean this Friday. Infants to 2nd class will clean around the school grounds and GAA pitch. The Green School’s Committee along with 3rd to 6th class will clean designated areas of the streets and estates in the village, in small groups under teacher supervision. If you do not wish your child to partake in this, please let the class teacher know.   

Monday  8th of April to Friday 12th of April – Gortnahoe NS Active Schools Week 

Children can wear their school tracksuit all next week, except on THURSDAY. Activities will include Gymnastics, Hip Hop Dancing, Hurling with former Kilkenny All Star Richie Power, Coaching with Andy Ryan, Tag Rugby and much more.  

Thursday 11th of April 

Please ensure your child is in full uniform coming to school on Thursday morning as school photographer William Whyte will be in school to take class, individual and sibling photos. Children from 1st – 6th can bring their school tracksuit to change into once the photos have been taken, for active school’s week activities, if they wish to.
